Jason C. Kohlmeyer
Jason Kohlmeyer is a 2000 graduate from Hamline University School of Law in St.
Paul, Minnesota and focuses his practice on only three areas, Criminal Defense
(especially DWI and DUI), Family law and Civil Litigation. He is licensed in
Minnesota, the Federal District of Minnesota, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals
and the United States Supreme Court.
A former prosecutor, under Minnesota Supreme Court Rules on CLS, Rule 1.04, Mr.
Kohlmeyer has prosecuted everything from low level thefts, DWI's up to and
including attempted murder. This has given Mr. Kohlmeyer an incredible insight
on how a prosecutor views the case and the strategy which goes into prosecuting
a DWI case.
Over the years, Mr. Kohlmeyer has been recognized for his ability as a trial
attorney. In 2002, he was named one of only ten up and coming attorneys by
Minnesota Lawyer, as well as having been named a “Star of the Quarter” by the
American Bar Association-Young Lawyer's Division, an honor given out to only a
few individuals each year. Martindale Hubbell, a nationally known and respected
attorney rating organization, has identified Mr. Kohlmeyer as “BV” rated, which
identifies him as having both “very high” ethical standards and "distinguished"
legal ability.
A frequent speaker, he has spoken in Washington, Minnesota, Tennessee,
California, South Dakota, Massachusetts as well as in Canada, appearing at the
American Association for Justice's (formally ATLA) national convention as well
as various American Bar Association, Minnesota Bar Association and Minnesota
Continuing Legal Education seminars and private groups.
Mr. Kohlmeyer is a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy's Trial
Skill Course, has earned the title "Advocate" by the National Trial Institute
and is one of the very few criminal defense attorneys in Minnesota who is also
certified as an Intoxilyzer 5000 operator.
Mr. Kohlmeyer is a former intelligence analyst and infantryman in the U.S. Army
Reserves/Minnesota Army National Guard. He lives with his wife and children in
North Mankato, Minnesota.
Christopher P. Rosengren
Chris has been a practicing attorney since graduating from the University of
Minnesota Law School in 1998. He has extensive courtroom experience, having made
hundreds of court appearances as both a former prosecutor and private attorney.
He was the City Prosecuting Attorney for the cities of St. Peter, Kasota and
Madison Lake, Minnesota from 1998-2001. In June 2001 he began practicing with
the prominent southern Minnesota law firm, Gislason & Hunter. While at Gislason,
Chris concentrated his private practice in Family, Criminal and Workers'
Compensation law. He has represented numerous clients in high-profile and
challenging cases and focuses on matters involving the custody of children.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Chris served eight years in the United States
Army as an Airborne Infantryman and Russian translator for Army Intelligence. He
is a 1989 graduate of the U.S. military's prestigious Defense Language Institute
where he spent the better part of that year in its intensive Russian language
program before graduating with honors and being assigned to Field Station
Augsberg, Germany. He lived in Germany for four years and traveled extensively
throughout Europe (including running with the bulls during the annual St. Fermin
festival in Pamplona, Spain in 1993).
Chris has received many awards including being named a Rising Star twice by
Minnesota Law & Politics Magazine; an honor reserved for only 2.5% of the
attorneys in Minnesota under the age of 40. He is perennially ranked among the
top attorneys at AVVO.com. In 2004 he was named the Pro Bono Attorney of the
Year out of all attorneys in the 15-county, Fifth Judicial District in
recognition and appreciation for his volunteer work providing legal services to
the indigent. He is an active member of the Catholic and serves as a member of
Finance Counsel for the Loyola Catholic School system. He and his wife, Mandy,
have six children and are active members of the Mankato community where they
live.
